Structural Design Engineer

Conceptual, functional and dimensional design.  Create explanatory drawings and supportive information for the purpose of conveying the design intent to the targeted customer.  Generate Bills of Material (BOM).  Create BOM's for prototype and base model products, as well as highly specialized units.  Perform/oversee the creation of detailed drawings for the product design.  Provide information to data entry from the drawings and vendor supplied components, which will define a completed product in the form of a top leve; BOM.  Understand and apply up-to-date methods of stress analysis and strength of material at component level as well as completed product to ensure structural integrity.  Apply analysis techniques to determine cause of field failures.  Provide calculations of product weights, load distributions.  Support manufacturing in construction of new (changed) designed product.  Work with manufacturing to establish manufacturing procedures.

Qualifications:  Bachelors degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
